The Massacre

Two years after the release of his landmark, album 'Get Rich or Die Tryin', 50 Cent is back with a new album. 'The Massacre' finds 50 still expanding the parameters of hip hop, once again backed up by West Coast production icon Dr. Dre, rap giant Eminem and G Unit MC's Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck.

What may come off as pure street bravado is really a compelling story of survival from a man who just refuses to lose, and who is always moving forwards. With 'The Massacre' 50 displays the whole range of his talent from the incendiary 'Piggy Bank' (a brutal diss track, too controversial for radio), to the Dr. Dre produced 'Talkin Bout Me' (showcasing 50's vivid storytelling prowess as he rhymes from the perspective of five different characters, including his own son), to the conceptual 'Baltimore Love Thing' (where 50 explores the dark romance between a junkie and heroin).

The Scott Storch produced 'Candy Shop' is the first official single though a second track, 'Disco Inferno', has also been all over mixtapes and the radio on both sides of the Atlantic. Like 'In Da Club', the track that announced 50's arrival on the world stage, 'Candy Shop' is based around an addictive hook, this time laced with a stab of Eastern-style strings and featuring the sultry vocals of G Unit first lady Olivia.

'The Massacre' is easily the most anticipated record of 2005 - 50 Cent looks to destroy the competition and continue his domination of the hip hop game and beyond.
