Pat Metheny Groupと並行して進めていたPat Methenyのプロジェクト、ストレートなジャズアルバム。 メンバーは、ベースCharlie Haden, ドラムスJack DeJohnette, そしてテナーサックスはDewey RedmanとMike Brecker.のふたり。 HadenとRedmanといえば、彼が好きなOrnette Colemanのレギュラーメンバーだったひと。そしてOrnette Colemanのターンアラウンドも演ってます。 タイトル. 「80/81」がカッコイイんだけど、「Tha Bat」みたいなバラード、「Two Folks Songs」「Every Day (I Thank You)」みたいなフォークテイストの曲が大好きなんだなぁ。

メセニーが、ギターを好き放題演奏しているようなアルバム。2枚組、しかもセール対商品でお安く購入できた。ただ、メセニーのアルバムでは、想い出のサンロレンツォが最高だと思っているのと、このアルバムにはあまりキャッチーな曲目も見当たらないので評価としては3点です。
