1968年に結成されたブラック・サバスが、まだ ”アース (Earth)” というバンド名で活動していた時期の未発表初期音源が発掘。長らく行方不明だったテープやアセテートからリマスターされて『The Legendary Lost Tapes 1969』としてリリース。

1969年にバーミンガムのゼラスタジオで録音された、「Blue Suede Shoes」「Evenin'」「Wee Wee Baby」といったロックンロール〜ブルースカヴァーを含む全９曲を収録。オリジナルマネージャーのジム・シンプソンによるスリーヴノート付き。
