全作品の累計セールスが１億枚以上を誇る、カルロス・サンタナ率いるアメリカのラテン・ロック・バンド＝サンタナ。今作『Lotus』（邦題：ロータスの伝説）は、1973年7月3,4日大阪厚生年金会館の模様を収録したライブ盤。サンタナのアルバム４作『Santana』『Abraxas』（邦題：天の守護神）『Santana III』『Caravanserai』の楽曲、カルロス・サンタナとジョン・マクラフリンのコラボ作品『Love Devotion Surrender』の楽曲で構成された、絶頂期のサンタナの興奮と官能のライブの凄さを余すところなく収録したライブ盤。今年で発売から50年を迎えるにあたり、モービル・フィデリティ社の高音質アナログ盤で復刻。世界3,000セット限定のシリアルナンバー入り。オリジナル・プレスと同じ三つ折りのデラックス・パッケージ仕様で、4 枚の両面フラット写真と 2 枚の 24 x 36 インチ両面折り込みポスターが封入される。アートワークのデザインは横尾忠則氏。
