渡仏の際に在仏のメンバーと共に録音された最晩年の録音。音色、技巧、フレーズ、全てがヘロヘロだが、それが逆に胸をしめつける。ビリー・ホリデイの「レディ・イン・サテン」に匹適する作品だと思う。この録音数日後、急遽帰国しニューヨークのホテルで４９歳の生涯を閉じた。
