オルタナ・カントリー・プリンセス、ニーコ・ケースが在籍するバンクーバー出身のパワーポップ・バンド、ザ・ニュー・ポルノグラファーズが約3年振りとなる7枚目のアルバムをリリース！元ズンパノでA.C.ニューマンとしても有名なカール・ニューマンとダン・ベイハー（現在はデストイヤーとして活躍）の2人を中心に、97年に結成された大所帯バンド。バンドの創設メンバーでもあるA.C.ニューマンは「このアルバムを制作し始めた頃、５次元空間でのクラウトロックをやりたいっていう考えがあったんだ。僕らが考えるクラウトロックっていうのは実は全くクラウトロックみたいな音では無いんだけどね。だけど俺たちは今までとは全く違うやり方でやってみようと思ったんだ。」とアルバム制作について語る。
