パット・マルティーノなんて60年代のちょっとスペイン掛かったギターと思って敬遠していた。それがエリック・サンダーの”1’st milestone”を聴いて、前のめりのノリノリギターが彼と知って大きく印象を訂正。このライブ盤もあわてて購入したが、すごいドライブだ。ギターの太い音が疾走するさまに完全にノックダウンさせられた。フランセスコのオルガンもグリグリきて、これは最高だ。

近年のジャズのライブアルバムでこれ以上のものは思いつかないです。傑作。正直マルティーノの諸作でも一番好きです。

キレがなくなったようでちょっと寂しいです。でも何とどうやろうと変わらない無機物フレーズは炸裂します。やっぱライブはいいね。
