アメイジングシリーズの第3弾、と受け止められていますが、この間にパウエルは少々重い精神疾患にかかって、薬物治療などを強いられます。それが元で、この前と後ではちょっと違う人になっちゃいました。彼の人気や評価が前期、後期で分かれる理由です。まあ、それはさておき、鍵盤に向かいながら取り憑かれたように音を紡ぐ彼の演奏は、今日でも強く心をつかみます。
