だから少女は幻想の国で、永遠の幸せを探した。
フランコ独裁政権の恐怖政治がスペインを覆いつくしていた暗黒時代。 少女オフィリアは優しかった靴屋の父親を亡くし、母が再婚したヒダル大尉のもとへ赴く。臨月の妻を無理に任地に呼び寄せる大尉は、まさに独裁のシンボルのような恐ろしい男。 直面する現実は残虐で悲惨なことばがりだった。
そんなとき彼女が見つけたのは薄暗い森の中の秘密の入り口。妖精の化身である虫たちに導かれそこで出会った〈パン〉牧神に告げられたのは、オフィリアこそ地下の王国の王女であるということ。 オフィリアは王女として戻るための3つの試練を与えられ”パンズ・ラビリンス（牧神の迷宮）”での冒険が始まる・・・。
