time is on my side、it’s all over now収録。リズムアンドブルースというよりもブリティッシュビート感の強い作品である。ジャケット写真のハーフシャドーはwith the beatlesを意識しているのだろう。

ビートルズが客観的に自分たちのサウンドをとらえた観点から綿密に選曲された如く自分のサウンドとして表現したカバー・バージョンに対して、ストーンズのカバー・バージョンは憧れである本場アメリカのブルースに少しでも近づこうとしていたこの頃。結果的に、同時代のブルース系ブリティッシュバンドのアニマルズや、マン・フレッド・マンに比べても渋さは際立っていると思う。当時のロンドンのブルースブームの中、アレクシス・コナーの影響を受けたメンバーが在籍していたことも影響しているのかも。

前作に引き続き、歌、演奏はヘタクソだが、この究極のヘタウマ感が本当にたまらない。テクニック云々よりとにかくR&Rを愛して止まない心がこれでもかと伝わってくる。R&Bのカヴァーがほとんどだが「渚のボードウォーク」なんていう渋い曲もある。チャック・ベリーのカヴァーなんて本当に手慣れたものだ！
