レイのソングライティングが爆発したアルバム。ロックの一言ではくくれない何でもありの一枚。ボサノバあり、ヴォードヴィルあり、プログレあり。他のビートバンドとはレベルの違いを見せ付けたアルバム。そして、あまり売れなかったらしいのもキンクスならでは。ウォータールーの夕陽はあまりに美しい。
