オルフェオの2枚、クラーヴェスの2枚とも輸入盤の価格が下がらず、なかなか中古盤でも出回らず、おそらく縁なく終わる関係かとともっていたが、嘗ての廉価盤の価格で５枚ものセットが買えてしまった。アドリヤン、グラーフも良いが、ASV製作のCD３が出色。選曲、マッケラスの棒、ECOの締まったアンサンブル、おおらかなディンフェルダーのFl。このセットを買わなければ出会わなかっただろう。その意味でも最高の評価を与えたい。

音楽史で重要な役割を果たしているのに、いまいち録音が少ないマンハイム楽派やイタリア・バロックを含めたフルート中心の構成という企画が良い。演奏はいろいろなのが含まれているが、とにかく楽しく気軽に聴けて、邪魔にならない。

フルート愛好家必携のセット。アドリヤンのベンダ、グラーフのペルゴレージ＆ボッケリーニ＆メルカダンテは、それぞれ発売当初から評価の高かった名曲、名演。これにアドリヤンのダンツィ（モーツァルトやベートーヴェンを模したダイナミックな曲想）、グラーフのクヴァンツ＆シュターミッツ（フルート学習者おなじみ）が付いているのだから言うことなし。ホフマイスターとＣＰＥバッハを吹くDingfelderは、ヴィブラートのかけすぎが耳につくがテクニックは立派。アドリヤンがベンダを木製、ダンツィを金属製の楽器で吹くのを聞きくらべる楽しみも。
