Product Description

Charismatic but simple John McCabe (Beatty) arrives in a young Western town to set up a saloon and brothel. Content Description

時代は19世紀から20世紀に変わろうとしていた。ワシントン州とカナダの国境近くにプレスビテリアン・チャーチという町があった。この町の名物はミスター・エリオットが建てた71フィートの教会と、腹黒いアイルランド人パトリック・シーハンが経営するインチキ酒場。採掘量も最低の亜鉛鉱山と今にもぶっ倒れそうな掘ったて小屋が並ぶこの町は不景気で、あぶれ者、脱落者の吹きだまりだった。そんな町に、ある日ジョン・マッケイブが流れてきた。マッケイブは三流のトランプ賭博師だが、ギャンブル好きの鉱夫たちを言葉たくみにシーハンの酒場に誘い込んでは金を巻き上げ、とうとうプレスビテリアン・チャーチに賭博場を建ててしまうのだった。
