タイトルや対訳を読むとこの頃から死ぬのを意識していたみたいに思えます。ただ音楽はこれから死期に向かうとは思えぬポジティブなテンションで圧倒されます。特に豪放磊落な声が凄い。１度生で聴きたかった。個人的にはWinwoodのカバー⑧が白眉。何時もジャケが本人の顔のドアップで自意識過剰にも思えましたが・・・。ロス・マクドナルドの「縞模様の霊柩車」に出てくる青年を自分のことだと言っていたとか。ファンは読んでみては。

中年を過ぎると、zevonの歌は、心に響きます。演奏はシンプルに徹し、歌詞は、心をえぐり、飄々とした哀愁が漂う。人生の甘辛を知った者ゆえ、真実味を増す。
