ストゥージズと並んでデトロイト爆音ロックの荒ぶる血筋の源流。耳をつんざく轟音と激しくアジテートするボーカル、荒々しい演奏はまさに音の暴力。この尋常でない音圧と迫力の凄さたるや！彼らをパンクのルーツと位置付けても誰も異論はないだろう。

ｲｷﾞｰはどちらかというとｱﾝﾀﾞｰｸﾞﾗｳﾝﾄﾞな香りがﾌﾟﾝﾌﾟﾝ漂っているが、後々の方向性を語るまでもなく、基本ﾛｯｸﾝﾛｰﾙ･ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞであるMC5の方が取っ付き易く純粋に万人ｳｹするだろうね。どちらが上か下かなんて他人の好みに間違いもｸｿも無い！それぞれがより好きなﾓﾉを支持すればよろしい。

僕に言わせれば、The Jamはピンときません。スタイル評議会の方が１００万倍カッコいい！！ ところでこのアルバム、出だしから飛び蹴りかましたるでって感じなテンションが最高にクール。この時代、一部の超大物を除いて、なかなかこんなアルバム出せなかったと思うよー。聴くべし！！
