長らくCD化が待たれていたライ・クーダーが音楽を手がけた『ボーダー』(82年、主演:ジャック・ニコルソン)、『アラモ・ベイ』(85年、監督:ルイ・マル)の二作のオリジナル・サウンドトラックをカップリング。
本人も出演したCMで使用され日本で話題となった「アクロス・ザ・ボーダーライン」をはじめジョン・ハイアット、デヴィッド・ヒタルゴ(ロス・ロボス)らのヴォーカル曲を多く収録し、映画音楽然とした『パリ、テキサス』に比べると彼のオジリナル・アルバムに近い仕上がりになっています。
その他、ヴァン・ダイク・パークス、テヴィッド・リンドレー、ジム・ケルトナー、ジム・デッキンソンらが参加。
