マンダム「GATSBY」のCMソングを歌っているのはこの人、Gary Adkins！オリジナルはStylisticsの"Can't Give You Anything（But My Love）"であることは既に有名ですが、CMで使われているのは、♪I Can't Give You Anything～の“Anything”以降の部分を“GATSBY”と歌い直しているものでGaryの歌声は当時のStylisticsのリードVoのRussell Thompkins Jrに負けずとも劣らぬファルセットです。そんなGaryが「GATSBY」効果を受けてか遂に日本デビュー。プロデューサーは東方神起や仲間由紀恵withダウンローズ等にアレンジャーとして参加している新進気鋭の作曲家、中野定博氏を迎え制作。
残念ながら本作に収録されている"Can't Give～"は“GATSBY”ヴァージョンではなく、オリジナルに忠実に“Anything”でカヴァーしたものではありますが、Lionel RichieとDiana Rossの大ヒットで知られる"Endless Love"やGeorge Michaelの"Gareless Whispers"、Luther Vandrossの"Dance With My Father"など日本でもお馴染みのヒット曲のカヴァーを収録しております。

*Gary Adkinsプロフィール
アメリカ、シカゴ生まれ。現在横浜在住。ボストンのバークレー音楽院で2年間過ごし、当時全米が熱狂したオーディション番組「Star Search」で準優勝、売れっ子マネージャー/プロデューサーのGene Griffinと契約し、世界を舞台に活躍。その後アメリカに戻り、プロデューサーJoe Isgroのもと「Inner City Blues」をリリース。Marvin Gayeの名曲としても知られているシングル"Inner City Blues"はビルボードのダンス･チャートで20位となり、R&B/HipHopチャートでも12位にランクイン。90年代後半にはプロデューサー業にも進出。現在は横浜に在住し、話題のギャッツビーをはじめ、キャノン、トヨタ、JR、コカコーラ、JAL、ホンダなどのCFで彼の歌を聴くことができる。また鈴木雅之、杏里、ハウンドドックらのレコーディングにも参加。10月27日からは山本耕史、愛内里菜主演のミュージカル『チック、チック...ブーン！』に出演。
