Having rocked Internet site myspace.com with a word-of-mouth buzz Arctic Monkeys would be proud of, Las Vegas quartet Panic! At The Disco finally unleash their debut album 'A Fever You Can't Sweat Out'.

With a flair for experimental instrumentation and intimately observant lyrics, the band have effectively provided an album of two distinct halves, a concerted effort to escape making a record of 13 of the same songs. The first half being futuristic, complete with drum machines and synthesizers and the second being nostalgic, complete with Vaudevillian piano and accordion, 'A Fever…' is as eclectic as it is complex, ambitious as it is cohesive. The band also took pointers from some of their biggest, although not overt, influences, from Third Eye Blind's melodic song structures ('But It's Better When We Do'), Queen's theatrical instrumentation ('Build God, Then We'll Talk') and Counting Crows' vivid and narrative lyrics ('There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Have'’t Thought Of It Yet').

It's their split-brain approach to songwriting and endearingly quirky song titles that has resonated with listeners young and old and looks set to be proven a successful combination, with single 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies' about to set the charts alight.

とにかく、とにかく聴いていて気分痛快。ｷｬｯﾁｰなのがいい。言葉の乗せ方がいい。何も考えず無条件に楽しい。ﾉﾚる。

多分エモはこの一枚だけだろうと思っていたら案の定でしたけど、これは名作です。この作曲能力と曲の作り上げ方を見れば、とても今のエモロックの世界だけに留まっていないであろう事は想像に難く有りません。だからこそ、期間限定ＰＡＴＤ版エモロックを堪能出来るのはこれだけだと思います。何か昔ポリス辺りに感じた匂いと似てますね。その当時は若かった私も今じゃ「この詐欺師が！」なんて決して言いません。ちゃんと変化を暖かく受け止めようと思います。
