監督の出世作で、最高傑作だと思います。けっこう駄作も作っているので。少年の不安定な心理状態と、落ち着いて会話を試みる主人公の対比がいい。ブルース・ウィリスが演技派の一面を見せ（ＴＶ時代は演技派のイメージだったが）、少年が天才子役、新たな才能を持つ監督が現れた、という印象のある、インパクトのある一作でした。

まあまあだったのが正直な感想。日本人にはこの手の話って聞き慣れてるせいか、あまり衝撃は受けなかった。ラストも予想できた。よかった事と言えば、子役の演技かな…

今更ながら見てみました・・・もっと早く見れば良かった～と思える作品。何度見ても飽きない・・・というより見れば見るほど奥深さを感じる作品。ラストは衝撃的です。
