ソニー・ロリンズの正規作品は、66年のインパルス「イースト・ブロードウェイ...」から72年の「ネクスト・アルバム」まで、一時期は6年の録音ブランクがあったが、その後、放送用音源等が相次いで発掘され、本作もその一連の流れに属する。 奔放だがフリージャズ色が無く、また、70年代のクロスオーバー色のきざしもみられず、50年代終盤に時折あった、ピアノレス・トリオによるもので、結構迷いの無い長尺ブロウが楽しめる。 また、最初のセッションの録音はサックスの音がかなり生々しい。さすがはヨーロッパ！　この時代のロリンズに偏見のある方は、ぜひ一度試してみてください。
