●『Last and First Men』は1969年アイスランド生まれの作曲家、音楽家、プロデューサーのヨハン・ヨハンソンによるマルチメディア作品。人類の20億年にわたる未来を描き高い評価を得たイギリスのオラフ・ステープルトンの長編小説『最後にして最初の人類』が基になっています。音楽、映像、そしてティルダ・スウィントンのナレーションを巧みに結びつけ、フィクションとドキュメンタリーの中間に位置した、記憶と喪失についての詩的な瞑想が作り出されています。ヨハンソンは2018年、『Last and First Men』の仕事をしている時に亡くなり、ベルリンを中心に活躍している作曲家でサウンド・アーティストであるヤイール・エラザール・グロットマンが後にそのスコアを完成させました。
