1937年フランス、ニース生まれのバルネ・ウィラン。1957 年に「死刑台のエレベーター」のサウンドトラックでマイルス・デイビスと共演し一躍有名になった。その後、デューク・ジョーダンが作曲した “危険な関係のブルース” のサウンドトラックでアート・ブレーキー&ジャズ・メッセンジャーズの一員として参加し、人気を決定づける。
1980年代の後半には IDAレーベルから「La note bleue」、「French Ballads」「Wild dogs of the Ruwenzori」 のいわゆるIDA 三部作を発表して注目を浴びた。
本限定セットはバルネの人気を決定づけた「 La Note Bleue」のオリジナルアナログ 24トラックマスターから180g 重量盤を作成。40頁のLPサイズブックレット、バルネをモデルにしたコミックブックの復刻版（88 頁）、そしてさらに1889年にパリのジャズクラブで録音された未発表音源のCDが付属。まさにマニア垂涎の限定ボックスです
