キーシャ・シャンテ？R&Bファンならどっかで耳にしたことのあるファースト･ネームとファミリー・ネームじゃありませんか？ だからって、○○フォロワーとかB級っぽいイメージを抱かないでくださいね！
Keshia Chanteはカナダはオタワ出身の18歳！04年に15歳（！）でアルバム「Keshia Chante」をリリースし、カナダ国内で10万枚を越える大ヒットを記録。
その後、CiaraやDestiny's Childのツアーへ参加、Bow Wowの"Shortie Like Mine"のPVに出演するなどアメリカ市場を意識した活動を続け、約2年の歳月をかけ待望のニューアルバム「2U」をリリース！
プロデューサー陣にDanja(Notorious Big、Nelly Furtado、Justin Timberlake）、Happy Perez（Paula DeAnda、Ludacris）、Rock Wilder(Jay Z、Busta Rhymes、Prodigy）などの豪華布陣を迎えて制作。
ファースト･シングル"Been Gone"は ヴィヴァルディの「四季 〜冬〜」を大胆にサンプリング。クラシックとR&B が見事に融合した、超印象的なキラー･トラック！
セカンド･シングル曲であり、アルバム･タイトル曲となる"2U"（PVのキーシャは一瞬Aaliyahかと！）は、Breakwater"Free Yourself"使いのアッパー･チューン、Rock Wilderが手がけた"Be About Yours"と"Can't Believe"では、Beyonceを彷彿とさせるサウンド･プロダクションとヴォーカル･ワークが冴え渡ります。
またキーシャの歌のうまさが際立つバラード"Little Things"も聞き逃し厳禁。歌がうまい上にビジュアルも超キュートで、今後日本でもブレイクしそうな予感！
