ヴァイオリンのヴィルトゥオーゾであったウジェーヌ・イザイが、大バッハの「無伴奏ヴァイオリン・ソナタ」に影響され、一夜にしてスケッチを書き上げたとされる６つの無伴奏ソナタ。イブラギモヴァの「無伴奏」と言えば、2009年にJ.S.バッハの無伴奏ヴァイオリン・ソナタ＆パルティータ（CDA67691）を発売、瞬く間に大ヒットとなり、来日公演でもたびたび演奏されてきただけに、その流れを汲むイザイの無伴奏ソナタはファン待望の録音となります。
