先日、突如ロンドンの街にエイフェックス・マークの飛行船が飛んだり、ニューヨークの路上に同じくエイフェックス・マークが出現。また自身のツイッターに投稿された怪しげなURLのリンクを辿るとニューアルバムと思われる情報が現れるなど話題となっていましたが、遂に正式にリリースが決定！アルバムのタイトル『Syro』、全12曲（国内盤は13曲）のトラックリスト、アートワークをデザイナーズ・リパブリックが手がけている事が発表されました。
