The Velvet Undergroundの伝説のデビュー作『The Velvet Underground & Nico』に参加したことで全ロック・ファンにおなじみのドイツ人女性シンガーNicoが1974年に発表した名作4thアルバムが初リマスターとボートラ搭載による2CDデラックス・エディションで登場！

元The Velvet UndergroundのJohn Cale、前年にRoxy Musicを脱退したPhil Manzanera (g)、前年のソロ・デビュー作『Here Come the Warm Jets』でシーンに衝撃を与え、後にDavid Bowie、Talking Heads、U2、Coldplay等の名作の数々をプロデュースすることになる天才Brian Eno (synthe)が参加したことでも話題になった作品。

DISC1にはオリジナル収録曲の史上初リマスタリング音源を収録。
DISC2には英国BBCラジオ"John Peel Session"、BBC2テレビ"The Old Grey Whistle Test"出演時の初CD化/未発表ライヴ音源や1974年6月1日録音のライヴ音源を収録。
