再結成しつつもアルバム1枚で活動を停止したブラック･メタル／デス･メタルのオリジネイター Celtic Frost のトム・ゲイブリエル･ウォリアーの新バンド始動！！
ルーツ・オブ・ブラックメタルとしてカルト的人気を集め、その音楽性とバンドの世界観が後に多くのフォロワーを生むことになった伝説のバンド Celtic Frost のトム・ゲイブリエル･ウォリアーの新バンド、Triptykon が遂に始動！
Celtic Frost は、2006年に 『Monotheist』 で復活を果たし、世界中で大絶賛を得たが、メインメンバーであるトムの脱退でバンドは活動を停止することとなり、彼が元々ソロプロジェクトとしてスタートさせようとしていたこの Triptykon を新しいバンドとしてスタートさせることになった。音楽性は 『Monotheist』 の邪悪さ全開の暗黒サウンドを継承。 Celtic Frost での片腕だったマーティン・エイン不在の影響を全く感じさせず、一聴してトムが創り上げたサウンドと分かるサタニックでオカルティックな世界観は健在。
アートワークは、トムが彼無しの音楽は考えられないと語る ヴィジュアル・アーティスト、 H.R.ギーガー が担当。 Celtic Frost 85年の名作 『To Mega Therion』 以来となるコラボレーション。
