シリーズ第5巻目は幸宏＆細野によるドラムズ＆ベース！
バッハ/ジャズ/ドビュッシー/ラヴェルと、すでに4巻を数えるcommons発の音楽全集『Schola』。
ラテン語で“学校”を意味するこのシリーズは、教育的な視点を持ち、音楽の成り立ちや歴史的背景を網羅した120PのブックレットをCDに付属した、いわば音楽の百科辞典。
ジャズ巻に続く非クラシックの2巻目でありシリーズの第5巻目となる今作は、 Yellow Magic Orchestraの高橋幸宏氏と細野晴臣氏の選曲によるドラムズ＆ベース巻。
ドラムとベースによるグルーヴ感溢れる楽曲が満載です。
昨年行われたWorld Happiness'09でも披露されたYMOによるビートルズのカヴァー「Hello, goodbye」、クリスタル・ケイをヴォーカルにフィーチャーしたスライ＆ザ・ファミリー・ストーンのカヴァーなども収録。
なお、この『Schola』シリーズは全30巻（クラシック16巻/非クラシック14巻）で構成し、年3巻ずつ10年間に渡り発売を予定されています。
