Please don’t think to buy this item. You’ll be forced to listen to the awfully distorted piano sound due to bad mastering. Furthermore, the 2nd part ends in the middle of the performance, and Treasure Island as an encore suddenly starts right after the sudden stop. The last track is a worsening sound quality Treasure Island. After all, this item totally doesn’t make any senses. It’s a waste of both money and time.

ELLEGARDENの影を引きずっているなら聴かなくていい。ここにあるのは別の可能性。ジャンルとかスタイルとかを突き抜けて、素な状態から「音楽って何だろう？」という根源的な問いにチャレンジしているように聴こえる。

ELLEGARDENの音楽は形が典型的な分、旋律の美しさが際立って楽しかったけど、僕はそれだけでは満足できなかった。もっと繊細で、生々しくて、人の息づかいが聴こえる、本音の音楽が聴きたかった。

そんな僕に、この初々しいバンドの音楽は大きな満足を与えてくれた。それがうれしかった。


初めて聴いたとき、なぜかKeith Jarrettのことを思い出した。単に鍵盤が入っているからということではなし、音楽には何の共通点もないのだけど。聴き込んでいくうちにわかったのは、音楽に向き合う姿勢が似ている、と。そう納得した。
