This set resembles that of Yves Nat in both its understated intensity (this is an artist who insists on being met half way by his listeners) and exemplary recording quality. The piano has a resonant, yet crisply articulated bass. Badura-Skoda gives exceptional performances of #2, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 23, and 30. His #29 is heroic while offering one of the few lucid performances of the fugue on disc. The interpretive depth and beauty of tone recall Fischer without sacrifice of the pianist’s individuality.0 people agree with this review
