Strongly recommend this CD regarding Odyssey Live in Sweden in June, 1976 to you, if you are one of Terje Rypdal’s fans. Firmly reconfirmed that he’s one of great Composers, Directors, Guitarists, Keyboarders and Saxophonists. It’s amazing that the melody theme of track No.6 ”Seasons” in ECM1110 was composed on the basis of Terje’s Ideas, even though the ECM1110 indicated that “Seasons” was done by Jack Dejohnette, Miroslav Vitous and Terje Rypdal. Compare with simply because it must be fan.

ECM復刻シリーズ(同じアーティストの過去の一時期の作品数枚を組み合わせた簡易ボックスもの)にしては珍しく、未発表ライブが添えられています。そして、これが最大の聴きもので、なぜ、今までお蔵入りになっていたのか不思議なくらいに良い出来栄え。本編の２枚組Odysseyが、どこかメリハリがなく、感情表現の垂れ流しのように聴こえてしまうほどです。In a Silent Way以降のMiles Davisに多大な影響を受けたに違いないTerje Rypdalが、単なる真似ごとではなく、もがき苦しみながらも、ひとつ上の次元に這い上がった貴重な記録がここにあると思います。
