Apart from the price (this much for one disc??!), this is an essential document for Bowie collectors everywhere. A reasonably good quality ’official’ bootleg, Santa Monica ’72 is Bowie on a roll--with Ronson and Co. doing more than their share to assure their front man comes off as explosive and confident as he does here. Five Years, Life On mars? and Rock N’ Roll Suicide are standouts here. By the way, go for the import on this one. Price-wise, it just makes more sense.
