This is one of my early jazz favorites from the 70’s. An outstanding recording from the now defunct Kudu label which features a stellar line-up of jazz talent, many of which have continued to produce music of exceptional merit. The Bob James arrangements are unmistakeable and reminiscent of everything he arranged and recorded for the CTI label during that era, but let’s not forget the star here, Idris Muhammad.
