LDをDVD化したものを今は聴いています。手元にはNHKBSのエアチェックVTRもあります。映像付きのRING演奏としては、現在最も私が好むものです。シェロー／ブーレーズ／バイロイトも、実際に78年に見聞しましたので、愛着充分なのですが、歌手の面子ではミュンヘンが優ります。ベーレンスはMETより数段上と思われます。ルネ・コロもお見事。サヴァリッシュは実に堂に入ったもので、経験豊富、さすがの名指揮。このところ評価が低いのは残念です。演出は好悪の分かれるところですが、今日の低水準・悪趣味・パロディ偏重とは一線を画したものでしょう。本商品の画質や如何に？

This is a musically SUPERB performance especially the magnificent Brunnhilde of Hildegard Behrens who has it all, radiantly powerful dramatic soprano that rises to all of the great climaxes with ease and immense musical authority and understanding. The orchestra and conducting are also idiomatic and authoritative. The staging is a bit more problematic as some scenes work wonderfully and other do not make any sense at all. Overall though I would give it a top score for musical values. The DVD production on
