It might be fair to say it’s ”inspired by Tarkus” rather than an orchestral version and to be fair it is called ”Zone-Tarkus” and co-credited as ”ELP - M.Pisati” and individual tracks are credited as ”ELP - Translation by M.Pisati” or just simply ”M.Pisati”. I keep playing it (I like it) but if you’re after straight orchestral ELP you may be disappoined.

The CD is broken down into two suites ”Zone-Tarkus” and ”Pictures at an Exhibition”. I bought this for the former so that’s what I’m reviewing. The Tarkus versions are interesting, but ultimately a little disappointing if you are looking for straight orchestral versions of the same. Has to be considered ”good” or better as it is an ambitious project.
