Pipa is a Chinese instrument that was invented more than 3000 years ago. Its sound reminds a mandolin. The original music on this CD is arranged for Pipa and other instruments such as guitar, violin, cello, piano, other Chinese instruments and string orchestra. The music is very melodic and relaxing. Lin Hai tried to combine various techniques, so you’ll hear New Age pieces, Crossover, light Jazz and Neo-Classics. I loved this CD very much. I think he produced a perfect album as I enjoyed all 12 tracks.
