    プーシキンの戯曲をもとに作曲された作品。 キュイには大変美しい歌曲があるがこの歌劇も美しい旋律にあふれている。 知られざる名曲だ。 カップリングで入っている管弦楽伴奏の歌曲も素晴らしい。
