I have listened to almost all the recordings of Mahler’s Sixth and I must to say that the present one is the worst. Strings are weak and they seem not always being able to play together; winds and brass are too often out of tune Furthermore, the orchestra seems to play without entusiasm. Perhaps, this is due to the conductor： not only he is uninspiring, but it seems that his presence is irrilevant, exception made for lethargic tempos. This recording is a shame for the musicians and an offence to Mahler.

アマチュア・オケであり、金管の裏返りや弦の濁りに神経質になる向きにはお勧めできない。しかし井上という指揮者に感心のある方は、手に取って頂きたい。第１楽章提示部反復施行で全曲92分という、バルビローリ以上の遅いテンポは、アマ故の妥協ではなく、井上の解釈のようである。繰り返し聞いているうちにオケの瑕瑾（もちろん並のアマ・オケのレベルはクリア）を越えて、この曲への愛情が聞こえてくるだろう。
