This is even worse than her 1990 Hyperion set of the Shostakovich Preludes and Fugues. The playing is astonishingly inaccurate with almost no control over balance of textures or pedalling - she is completely helpless when faced with even moderate technical difficulties. Compare what is notated in the score with what is heard on the disc! Even by the most objective standards, it is difficult to see how any musically trained listener could regard this playing as being of an adequate professional standard.
