Many reviewers have stated that this recording is extremely fine, but perhaps if these reviewers were musically trained and able to read the notation in a score they would have realised how inaccurate, messy and amateurish the playing really is (see the comments about this recording and the lies told by Nikolayeva about her alleged association with Shostakovich on pages 410-411 of the revised 2006 edition of a book by Ian MacDonald entitled The New Shostakovich). Buy the superb Ashkenazy Decca version!
