録音年代が偏っている。もっと60年代の録音も聞きたいのだが、それはともかく、50年代のコーガンは本当に凄い。切れ味の鋭さ、内に込めたパッションは聞き手を圧倒する。一見クールに弾ききっているように聞こえて、1小節ごとに表情の変化を作る凝り方はハイフェッツをも凌ぎ、ムラヴィンスキーの芸術さえ連想させる。70年以降は、残念ながら芸風は温和になってしまうのだが。いつまで待っても第2集が出ないが、まだまだ50年代のブラームスやスペイン交響曲の驚愕の演奏がライヴで残っており、是非出してほしい。
