I had also not liked this album. The arrangements are lost. The 1st track ”Rome” seems the After Forever’s ”Invisible Circles”. The only one track is cool is ”The Chronicles ”. I feel sorry, my rating is ”OK”. All these ”?”s (interrogations) are causing some irritation other readers and possible Ten’s fans. If I were all of you, you should write nothing, please......

今思えばTENというバンドの魅力は1stの１と10に集約されていたと思う。バーンズのゲイリー・ムーアばりのGあってこそのバンドだったと思う。Gの交代ですっかり骨抜きなBGMになってしまった。そういったことを気にしないメロディ重視の方ならOKだろうが、やはりいまいち…。あのすばらしいGはもうTENで聞けないんだね。Gが単に鳴ってるだけじゃ…ね。

I hoped this album could be better than ”Return To Evermore”. Nevertheless, it happened the contrary.... Unfortunately, ”The Twilight Chronicles” is not so excellente as ”Far Beyond”, ”Babylon”, ”Spellbound”, ”The Name of The Rose”, ”X” (Ten, in Roman number). The only one track I liked was that one which was mentioned on another ”Customer Reviews” (”The Chronicles”)....

やっぱりヴィニーバーンズの存在は大きかったと言わざるをえない・・・曲も似たような曲ばかりだしギターも勢いがないし・とにかく全体的に勢いがなくなったように思う。ヴィニーの復帰はもうないのかな？

In my opinion, the rating for this album is 5,5/10, in spite of having contrary thoughts. There is a homepage which gave the rating as 9,9/10 (HardRockHouse.Com). I tried to listen to all album, but the sound was not pleasant. ”Rome”, for example, seems to have parts of riffs are equal to After Forever’s Invisible Circles. It seems that Gary based on some parts of goth rock . The only one track is cool is The Chronicles. The rest of this album is not pleasant as Babylon, FBTW, TNOTR, Ten, Spellbound..

テンらしいメロディが沢山詰まったアルバムで 前作のRETURN TO EVERMOREより楽しめました。 ただ、前作同様に気になるのがクリスのギター・サウンドが 大人しいということです。 前任者のヴィニー・バーンズに比べて 技巧ということでは問題ないのですが、 荒々しさが足りないのではないかと感じています。 その点を次回作で改善してくれれば 作品のグレードが更に上がるでしょう。

メロディアス・ハードの老舗TENの新作。前作が間延びしまくりんぐの弛緩しきった凡作だったので、本作を聞く前は不安が殆ど。で、実際に聞いてみると、楽曲のむやみな長大化という悪弊を引きずってはいるものの、歌メロの光る佳曲が多いTENらしい一枚でほっと一息。M5からM7への流れには微笑まずにはいられない。ただ、先述の通り「なぜこの素材で7分の曲を作る!?」という疑問が頭をよぎる曲も散見されるし、クリス・フランシスのマシーナリーなプレイにはまだどうしても違和感が残る。不安はだいぶ拭えたが絶賛には至らない、といったところか。

今作を聴いてると前作は何だったんだぁ!!と思う程にTEN節炸裂の力作。前作は肩透かしを食らった感がｵﾚにはあったから嬉しい驚き。壮大な�@からして聴いてる者を放さないｲﾝﾊﾟｸﾄ。捨て曲らしい曲も無く、このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑでV･ﾊﾞｰﾝｽﾞがｷﾞﾀｰ弾いてたら…何て思わない方がｲｲね☆
