Product Description

An ambitious work by Nariaki Obukuro, who has been pushing the front line of J-R&B since his debut.
In a bustling intersection of beats, he explores the possibilities of Japanese soul music for a new era.

This release marks Obukuro’s first independently produced work in his career. It features numerous musicians active in London’s music scene, including Rosetta Carr, bassist for Sampha’s support band; Ayo Salawu, drummer for Kokoroko; and Lyle Barton, pianist for Nala Sinephro’s support band. Mixing was handled by Grammy-winning engineer Russell Elevado, known for his work on D’Angelo’s Voodoo and Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun. Blending jazz, reggae, dub, Latin, and other multicultural sounds with the beauty of the Japanese language, this is a bold and expressive work from Obukuro.
