My Bloody Valentine 『Loveless』
Crushing, roaring distortion guitars and sensitively flowing melodies were combined together to create this pivotal shoegazer classic, which provides a definitive prototype for their fellow bands. The band are to release a follow-up to this album fairly soon (or so we hope..). |
『My Bloody Valentine Box』 CANCELLED |
Ride 『Nowhere』 Ride made their debut with this pivotal album at the advent of the 90's. Dark, psychedelic guitar sound was often described as "ecstasy created without drugs". |
Chapterhouse 『Whirlpool』
Another unmissable classic is the 1st album from Chapterhouse. Under the heavy influence from Spacemen 3 the band develops their own unique sound full of psychedelic, dreamy feedback whirlwind. |
Chapterhouse 『Blood Music』 Here's a reissue of the title released back in 1993. Stronger influence of house music is evident here, with lots of sampling beats. A fine amalgamation of guitar sound and house music. |
Slowdive 『Just For A Day』 This is the 1st album and a true classic from Slowdive, one of many shoegazer bands that Creation produced. Sensitive, aesthetic sound with lots of Cocteau Twins here. |
Pale Saints 『Comforts Of Madness』
Extremely underrated compared to MBV or Ride, Pale Saints still managed to yield this true classic, which was their 1st album. Roaring distortion guitars and Iain's high-toned vocals match together beautifully. |
Lush 『Spooky』 Here's the 1st album from Lush led by a girl pair Miki & Emma. The band gained steady fanbase with their translucent, high-toned vocals and choruses with aesthetic sound. This album was produced by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. |
Blind Mr Jones 『Spooky Vibes』 Blind Mr. Jones released 2 albums and 4 singles from Cherry Red Records, and were a rather exceptional but important existence in the Shoegazer world. This is their best collections. |
Swervedriver 『Juggernaut Rides』
Although with impressive flowing melodies Swervedriver managed to separate themselves from other shoegazer bands with their hard and heavy distortion guitar sound, and were fairly popular. This is their anthology album. |
Amusement Parks On Fire 『Out Of The Angeles』 APOF's debut album. They are proper MBV children, with distortion guitars with feedback noise, strings and piano fully merged together in their music. |
Radio Dept. 『Pet Grief』 Radio Dept. are popular as NEO-shoegazers, with typical feedback roaring guitars matching up so well with sweet, gentle melodies! |
Film School 『Hideout』
Here's the latest title from a San Francisco shoegazer band Film School, with guest contributions from Colm O'Ciosoig and Snow Patrol. |
Pia Fraus 『After Summer』
Pia Fraus's latest is produced by Norman of Teenage Fanclub. They weave out dreamy sound with beautifully skewed feedback guitars that flow along sweet melodies. |
Elika 『Trying Got Us Nowhere』 A mini album from a NY dream pop duo Elika. Feedback noise, programmed drum beats and sensitive guitar lines mingle together to create their beautiful shoegazer sound. |
