《CSO•RESOUND》MUTI & CSO / Prokofiev, Scriabin & Ravel
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's first performances with Riccardo Muti in 32 years were described as a"Triumphant return"by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Now available worldwide as the only CSO recording featuring Muti, Poem of Ecstasy showcases the electric connection that was made between the Orchestra and the celebrated conductor. The Chicago Tribune said, "To judge from the magnificently committed playing the orchestra gave Muti, from the first crunching chords of Prokofiev's Symphony No. 3 through the cataclysmic ending of Ravel's Bolero, the rapport between him and these virtuoso musicians seemed almost instantaneous."
A musical force in Chicago and around the world, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is consistently hailed as one of the finest international orchestras. CSO Resound features the sounds of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra today, with new recordings of thrilling live performances, featuring world-class conductors and guest artists. The name, CSO Resound, reflects the distinct and powerful sound of the orchestra itself−an ensemble renowned for its sonic brilliance−as well as "re-sound,"as each recording will document and extend the experience of a unique concert event.
