DJ Kaoriプロフィール

14才からアナログ盤を集め始め、16才の頃から自己流でDJを始める。92年単身でニューヨークへ渡り、プレイしているところを彼女が尊敬するFUNKMASTER FLEXの目に留まり、彼が率いるBig Dawg　Pitbulls唯一の女性DJとして迎え入れられる。

これまでに音楽界以外でもマイケル・ジョーダン、マジック・ジョンソン、マイク・タイソン等スーパーセレブからも彼らのパーティでのDJ依頼を受けるまでになる。その後、ニューヨークのNo.１ラジオ局Hot 97にて日本人としては初となるDJプレイを披露、US以外でもUK、フランスなどでも活躍。

日本ではこれまでにDouble、安室奈美恵等のリミックスを手掛け、最近では歌手としても活躍中。昨年リリースされた2枚組CD「DJ KAORI’S Ride Into The Mix」は日本のミックスCD史上最大のセールスを記録している。

海外でパワフルに活躍する日本人女性として数多くのメディアでも紹介されまくるDJ　Kaoriは、国内外におけるDJプレイのみならず、そのファッションセンスや、ライフスタイルでも10〜20代の女の子の憧れの的となっている。
