次世代ヒップホップ･グループ、The Pack！
Neptunes･ミーツ・スナップのような麻薬性のあるトラックにスニーカー・ブランドのVansをひたすら褒めまくる"Vans"が話題になったベイエリアの4人組（Young L, B, Young $tunna, Lil Uno）が西海岸のドン、Too $hortに見出されUp All Nite Records/Jiveから デビュー！スケーター・ムーヴメントを意識したPVも話題で日本ではオシャレ・ピープルにもアピールしそう。

シングル"Vans"はVansスニーカーのすばらしさを、例えばカラー・バリエや良心的価格、そして履いたり脱いだりが楽とかまでひたすら褒めまくり。しかもそれがタイアップなしで勝手に作ったというから驚きです。なんと彼らのMySpaceは200万アクセスし話題沸騰！
待望のアルバムに先駆けリリースされる本EPには、話題の"Vans"のほかにも7曲収録（"Vans"のPVも収録！）。"Vans"以上にスペーシーな"I'm Shinin'"、Ying Yang風の"Ride My Bike"、エレクトロ度の強いハイフィー"Candy"など収録！殆どのトラックを手がけているのはメンバーのYoung Lということもあり、将来有望です！
また、全米では今、Packが拠点にしているベイエリアを中心に盛り上がっているパーティー・ミュージック、「ハイフィー」が大ブレイク中。日本でも御大 MasterkeyがハイフィーMix CDを作るなど、ハイフィー・ブームは徐々に近づいています！
ハイフィーとは。。
Hyphyとは「Crunk, Northern California Style」とか「The Newest HipHop Out Of Northern California」という意味らしく、音楽的にはクランクよりアップテンポで、元々はE-40をフィーチャーしたFederationのそのものズバリのタイトル"Hyphy"のスマッシュヒットによりアメリカ全土に注目されるされるようになったスタイルで、元々Keak Da Sneakをはじめベイエリアのローカルでは既に話題になっていました。
ですが、やはりHyphyはその様子を見るのが一番！DVDを買うほど余裕はないという方は、 E-40のシングル"Tell Me When To Go"のプロモクリップをチェックしに行っちゃってください！
