20世紀最高の作曲家のひとり、ブーレーズの作曲作法や音楽の秘密に迫るドキュメンタリー映像を２本収録。あまりに精緻な作品を生み出すその頭脳には驚嘆するばかりですが、その裏側を知る大きなチャンスでしょう。1960年代の作品である「エクラ」（輝き）は偶然性の手法を導入したもので、構築の過程を追うことにより作曲者の音楽性と目的が把握できます。現代作品のファンは必見のおもしろさです。

1965年に作曲された、15の楽器のための作品『ECLAT』に迫ったドキュメンタリー。エド・スパンヤールド指揮ネイザーランド新アンサンブルによる演奏を、ブーレーズが直接指導。
