生誕40周年ピンク・パンサー＆ヘンリー・マンシーニ！

ピンク・パンサーは1964年に公開された映画『ピンクの豹』（ブレイク・エドワード監督）でオープニングや劇中に登場するアニメーションだった。しかしながら、公開から16日後には「ＴＩＭＥ」の表紙を飾るほどの大人気キャラクターに！映画自体はピーター・セラーズ演じるフランス警察のドジなクルーゾー警部が主人公で、ピンク・パンサーは、劇中で泥棒が狙う宝石のことだったが、シリーズ名に。ヘンリー・マンシーニのあのテーマ曲はグラミー賞も受賞している。
その愛すべきキャラクター、ピンク・パンサーが今年で40周年を迎える！夏頃に初DVD化となるDVDボックスがリリースされるなど、今後、様々なイベントやキャラクター・グッズで盛り上がりそう！！
そして、CDでも40周年記念アルバム『Pink Panther's Penthouse Party』発売決定！いやいや〜参加アーティストが超豪華！ ピチカート・ファイヴ、ファットボーイ・スリム、ディミトリ・フロム・パリ、ファンタスティック・プラスチック・マシーンによる楽曲や、「ピンク・パンサーのテーマ」をエレクトロクラッシュのフィッシャースプーナーがリミックスした楽曲なども収録される予定。昨今のクラブ・ミュージックを牽引する豪華アーティスト陣によるこの40周年記念アルバムは聞き逃せませんヨ！
ピンク・パンサーの音楽といえば、前記したように映画音楽の巨匠、ヘンリー・マンシーニによるテーマ曲が有名ですが、そのヘンリー・マンシーニのトリビュートアルバムが3月24日発売！本作では、『ティファニーで朝食を』のテーマ・ソング「ムーン・リヴァー」をTAKE6が歌うほか、スティーヴィー・ワンダーもハーモニカで参加するなど、こちらも楽しみな一枚。
また、あまりヘンリー・マンシーニに馴染みが少ないという方には『 Midnight Moonlight & Magic - The Very Best Of 』がオススメ。
