ニューヨーク・パンクの女王、Patti Smithのアリスタ時代のアルバム8作品をまとめたボックス・セットが登場！
1946年シカゴ生まれ。ニューヨークへ進出後、ブルー・オイスター・カルトに詞を提供し詩人として注目され、74年から音楽活動を開始。
73年に開業したニューヨーク・マンハッタンにあるCBGBでの功績が認められ、 アリスタ・レコードと契約。
1975年に、ロック史上に残る名盤『Horses』をリリースし、その後アリスタ・レコードからは2000年の『Gung Ho』まで計8枚のアルバムをリリース。
コロンビア・レコードに移籍した今もなお、カリスマ的存在感を放ちながらコンスタントに作品を発表しています。
そんなPatti Smithの初期〜中期のアリスタ時代の作品をすべてまとめたのが本作『Arista Years 1975-2000』。アルバムを全てもっているファンも是非手に入れたいコレクターズ・アイテムとなっています。

『Horses』
パティの元恋人だった写真家・ロバート・メイプルソープのジャケも美しいパティ・スミスの名作１ｓｔアルバム『ホーセズ』（75年発表）。鬼才ジョン・ケイルのプロデュース。

『Radio Ethiopia』
1976年に発表した2nd。ハード・ロック・バンドを数多く手掛けてきたジャック・ダグラスのプロデュースに象徴されるように彼女のアルバム中最もロックンロール色の濃い一枚。

『Easter』
1978年に発表した3rd。ステージからの転落事故後、休養を余儀なくされた彼女の復帰作だった。すっきりとしたロックの王道感溢れるサウンドと楽曲が印象的な一枚で、従来よりもポップな仕上がり。

『Wave』
トッド・ラングレンをプロデューサーに迎えた4th。元MC5のフレッド・ソニック・スミスへ捧げられた「フレデリック」など、穏やかな作風が特徴的。ザ・バーズのカヴァー「ロックン・ロール・スター」も収録。

『Dream Of Life』
『Wave』発表後、家庭に入り9年間もの沈黙を守ったパティ・スミスが1988年に突如発表した復帰作。夫フレッド・スミス（元MC5）とジミー・アイオヴィン（『イースター』のプロデューサー）によるプロデュース。

『Gone Again』
さらに前作から8年の間をあけて発表された6th。最愛の夫、信頼する人々の死の悲しみを乗り越えて、そして作り上げられたアルバム。シリアスで重たい内容でありながら力強い印象を強く感じる作品。

『Peace And Noise』
2度のブランクを経て、1996年の前作『ゴーン・アゲイン』で復活したパティ・スミスが翌1997年に発表した7th。パティの歌の力と、ようやくこなれてきたと思しき演奏の充実ぶりで聴かせきってしまう。

『Gung Ho』
プロデューサーにギル・ノートンを迎え、パティの現在の「無敵ぶり」がサウンドに顕れた堂々たる内容。#7ではパティの熱烈な信奉者、R.E.Mのマイケル・スタイプとかつての盟友・恋人トム・ヴァーレインが参加。
